Customs Forms and Declarations

These are the declarations and formats importers and exporters are most often asked for at the time of clearance. Download the one you need, complete it on your letterhead where the format requires it, and send it across with your shipping documents. If you are not sure which applies to your consignment, ask us before you file rather than after.

What these documents are for

• Authority letter - authorises S. K. Agency to act as your customs broker and file documents on your behalf. Required once per client, on your letterhead.
• Declaration and Annexure I - the importer's declaration accompanying the Bill of Entry, covering valuation, relationship with the supplier and correctness of the particulars declared.
• Hazardous and non-hazardous cargo declarations - confirms whether the consignment contains dangerous goods, which determines handling, stowage and storage at the terminal.
• SDF form - the Statutory Declaration Form filed with the Shipping Bill for export consignments.
• CRV - used where the cargo requires a container release or verification record at the terminal.
• Invoice and packing list formats - the commercial invoice and packing list are the two documents customs assessment starts from. Getting description, quantity and value consistent across both prevents most queries.

Regulated goods will need more than these. Food and beverages need FSSAI, plants and timber need a Plant Quarantine permit, products of animal origin need Animal Quarantine, and notified electronics need BIS registration under the CRS.
