Cargo We Have Cleared and Moved

Four decades at Indian ports means very little of what arrives is unfamiliar. S. K. Agency has cleared and moved cargo across most commodity groups handled on the west coast, from routine containerised imports to consignments that needed a route survey and a police escort before they could leave the port.

Sectors we work in

• Capital goods, plant and machinery - including Project Import registration under Heading 9801, which consolidates a plant import under one concessional duty rate.
• Solar and renewable energy - modules, inverters, mounting structures and balance-of-system equipment.
• Oil, gas and petrochemical - process equipment, valves, drilling spares and project modules.
• Instruments and appliances, including goods requiring BIS or MeitY registration before clearance.
• Steel, break bulk and RORO - coils, plate, structures, and wheeled or tracked plant driven on and off the vessel.
• Perishable and regulated cargo needing Plant Quarantine, Animal Quarantine or FSSAI clearance.

The work that does not photograph well

Most of what we are actually paid for never appears in a gallery: getting a tariff heading right the first time, defending a declared value at the Special Valuation Branch, closing an SVB case that has been open for years, or filing ahead of vessel arrival so a container never accrues detention. That work is invisible when it goes well, which is rather the point.
